Dear Dog,
My husband and I installed a brick patio in the backyard last year, and surrounded it with flowers. It was looking beautiful, and then out of no where, moss overtook it. I’ve scraped off the moss repeatedly, but it keeps coming back, and I worry that using chemicals will destroy the flowers. Do you have any suggestions on what we can do?

Dear Jenny and Sam,
The easiest and most effective way to rid yourselves of the moss problem is to use a pressure-washer—which can be rented from you local hardware store. Hold the wand a minimum of 12 inches from the surface and spray the area down in a fan shaped pattern. Don’t use too much pressure on one spot, or your may damage the mortar. You will only need to use a pressure-washer once, and after that, simply purchase a nozzle for your garden hose and spray it down accordingly.
