I was at the store and saw the nicest wallpaper that would look great in my recreation room. My only concern is that if I decide to take it down one day, the walls will be ruined. Is there a way to keep that from happening?

Dear Barry,
YES! I’m glad you asked! It’s a good idea to prep your walls before applying wallpaper for a couple reasons. Applying wallpaper primer to the wall before hanging up your wallpaper will help so that it will easily and strongly adhere to the wall. If you decide to take it off one day, having the primer applied will make it easy as pie. Also, it protects the surface of walls so they will not be damaged from the adhesive. Wallpaper sealer/primer comes in different varieties and can be purchased at your local hardware store. Water-based is typically the most popular because it’s easy to use and can go on any surface.
